This song always comforts when I'm feeling down. Been listening to it quite frequently these days; it's a reminder that man's weakness is the beginning of God's strength.

The original song was sung by Whitney Houston:

On Youtube, I've found two versions - Houston's is classical, but I felt more drawn to another more modern version by Selah. Am sharing both of them here :)

As a child, Whitney Houston was my best-loved singer.

Whitney was a testament that true singers had a gift with the voice. She didn't need backup dancers, sexual innuendo, nudity, or the sound-effect frills that plague too many modern tunes these days. I felt great sorrow when she passed on on Feb 11, 2012.

Her voice will always be loved and remembered by many.

My favourite was the ballad, Didn't we almost have it all.

Touching and deeply soulful, Whitney's voice belted out lyrics describing a love that was once pure and now gone. 12 years ago, soon after I broke up with my first love, I listened to it continuously for nearly a year (and on-and-off).

The song still touches me today. It's a classic that I'll always return to.

Nowadays, a lot of songs are on (a) love, (b) lust/sex, or (c) both. Finding a song NOT on such a topic is a real caveat, but today I chanced upon an old favourite. There's even a Wikipedia entry on this song: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freewill_(song)

Came across an old song. One of my high school favourites. This song makes me happy, sad, and completely breaks my heart at the same time.

It's one of those songs that REALLY do make you cry. A classic breakup song that you put on repeat when your heart has been broken.

It used to remind me of my first breakup. (The kind that you fall crazily in love and think it'll last forever and since the day it was over you've been a cynic type). These days, it reminds me of the hubby - a good 7-hour time zone difference away.

Thanks, Brandy, for delivering the music with such powerful emotion.

I'm with all those people out there who say how this song so appropriately describe their love lives.

The song reminds me to be a little more humble, a little more understanding, a little more... humane. Yet, sometimes saying Sorry is just one part of a big picture. The other alternative is not to make the same mistake again - which in some ways is harder than apologizing. Yet at the same times there's consequences for saying Sorry. Not saying it enough breeds arrogance, and saying it too much diminishes its meaning. And there's always other factors that get in the way - fear of rejection, fear of not receiving forgiveness, bad memories in the past, knowing the other person is wrong too, the feeling of vulnerability, notions of inadequacy, opening the path for additional criticism, admitting you were wrong (or equally wrong). Or admitting fault despite knowing you're not wrong.

So many words, so much to say, so little room for expression.
